Everyone dreams of quitting the job, renting out the house (or giving notice to the landlord), packing the RV and hitting the road. That’s what Shelly Robillard, her husband Jason and her three children are up to! (Shelly’s 19-year-old niece will join them to share the journey and help out with the children.)
They’ll be traveling the United States conducting barefoot running workshops and publicizing Jason’s book The Barefoot Running Book Second Edition: A Practical Guide to the Art and Science of Barefoot and Minimalist Shoe Running and his website Barefoot Running University.
They’ll also be adventuring, something Shelly seems to be very good at! As you’ll hear in this podcast episode, she’s biting at the bit to get out into the world with her children, continuing what she does all the time with them: running, playing, barefooting, and challenging norms.
One thing that came up in the interview: I said I was searching Jason’s book acknowledgements for some gushing words from Jason to Shelly. I didn’t find anything until the middle of the book, but I was wrong! It would have helped if I had looked under the heading “Acknowledgements” Jason writes…
“This project would not be possible without the unconditional support of my wife Shelly. Your encouragement and love has changed my life. I will be forever grateful.”
Now that’s a grateful husband.
She is Ultra in so many ways. Listen to Shelly’s interview and see for yourself how dedicated she is to her family and her health:
