Hello Caity!
You left a message on my blog and I had a question for you. I don’t run barefoot 100% of the time. I run in Vibram or Merrell Trail Gloves when I run trails. I do run barefoot when I run roads or hill work. I’m not sure if you’re looking exclusively for barefoot runners or not. If you are, I can forward names along to you.
If not, I would love to do an interview with you. My husband is running Western States in June so I will be in California but I don’t know if that’s anywhere remotely close to you!
Thanks!

Hey Caity,
I just decided to start running barefoot (really, running in general) about a week ago. I’ve really started enjoying it, and have been working up the distance I can cover completely barefoot. I really want to keep going – but there’s that whole freezing Michigan winters dilemma. Honestly, I don’t think a short run in the cold would be too bad if I didn’t go outside until I was really warmed up. Do you have any suggestions for a nice warm up routine that would get the blood pumping to my toes?
(preferably one that would fit in the 3′x6′ open space in my room…)
Thank you!
caity

Allie, well how’s this for a late response to your post? I’m delighted you’ve started running barefoot, and I hope you’re still enjoying it! Your question is important during the cold weather! I enjoy warming up with push-ups (I use my knees!) and I would even try doing a set of 100 minor and 100 major One-Hundred Up Challenge exercise (check it out at http://www.hundredup.com). Easy! Stay warm, listen to your body, and enjoy your barefoot running!

Hi, I have enjoyed your website. I have been running wirthout shoes since I was child (I am now 30) so it is natural for me. I usually run up to 10km a day including about 3km on gravel paths. I recently completed a half-marathon (21.1km) road race running barefoot odf course. Keep up the good work.
